Dubai gold jumps to Dh597 per gram as jewellery prices rally sharply
Silver and platinum scale fresh all-time peaks
DUBAI – Dubai gold prices surged on Friday, with retail jewellery rates climbing sharply across all major purities, according to the Dubai Jewellery Group.
The rise capped a volatile trading week marked by sharp day-to-day swings and a strong rebound from mid-week levels. The gains came as global bullion prices hit fresh records, supported by geopolitical developments and investor positioning.
Dubai gold rates today
On Friday, 24K gold was priced at Dh597.00 per gram, up from Dh577.75 on Thursday, Dh586.25 on Wednesday, Dh566.00 on Tuesday and Dh562.00 on Monday. This represents a weekly increase of Dh35 per gram for the purest gold.
Other categories posted similar gains. On Friday, the 22K gold stood at Dh553.00 per gram, compared with Dh535.00 on Thursday, Dh542.75 on Wednesday, Dh524.00 on Tuesday and Dh520.25 on Monday. The 21K gold rose to Dh530.25, from Dh513.00 a day earlier and Dh499.00 at the start of the week. The 18K gold was quoted at Dh454.50, up from Dh439.75 on Thursday and Dh427.75 on Monday, while the 14K gold climbed to Dh354.50, compared with Dh343.00 on Thursday.
Global gold markets
In international markets, gold continued its record-setting rally on Friday. Spot gold traded at $4,957.10 per ounce, after touching an all-time high of $4,966.59 earlier in the session. US gold futures for February delivery rose to $4,958.30 per ounce.
The surge followed a weaker US dollar and heightened market focus on trade tariffs, NATO-related developments involving Greenland, and ongoing geopolitical uncertainty. The dollar index hovered near a more than two-week low, supporting demand for dollar-denominated metals.
Other precious metals
Silver surged to a record $99.34 per ounce, before easing to $98.87, while platinum climbed to an all-time high of $2,684.43, later trading at $2,650.90. Palladium edged lower to $1,908.02 per ounce.
