Maldives resort invites GCC travellers to swim with manta rays in Unesco-protected waters
Discover marine wonders at Finolhu with exclusive conservation journey
DUBAI – As summer holidays begin and GCC travellers look for unforgettable island escapes, Finolhu, a Seaside Collection Resort, is inviting guests to explore one of the Maldives’ most remarkable natural experiences.
Set within the UNESCO-protected Baa Atoll, the resort has launched its Marine Mysteries & Conservation Journey, offering visitors the chance to discover the region’s rich marine biodiversity.
Surrounded by crystal-clear waters and pristine beaches, the island resort provides a seasonal experience centred around one of the ocean’s most fascinating creatures, the manta ray.
Manta ray encounters
Available until 30 November, the exclusive experience for two guests includes a guided snorkelling adventure in the world-renowned waters of Hanifaru Bay. The protected marine sanctuary is recognised for hosting one of the largest seasonal gatherings of manta rays on the planet, where these gentle giants gather in nutrient-rich waters and move gracefully through the bay.
Led by Finolhu’s professional marine team, the excursion gives guests the opportunity to witness the spectacular marine phenomenon up close. The experience also includes a guided coral propagation activity with the resort’s Marine Biologist, providing insight into ongoing reef restoration initiatives designed to support the Maldives’ fragile underwater ecosystems.
Island escape
Located just a 30-minute seaplane journey from Malé, Finolhu stretches across two kilometres of white sandy beaches and has recently entered a new chapter of island living following a full transformation. The resort combines contemporary Maldivian design with modern luxury across 125 redesigned villas and an updated selection of island experiences.

Guests can enjoy a variety of activities, including family-focused programmes, creative art spaces, wellness experiences and diverse dining concepts, creating a complete island getaway for travellers of different ages.
The Marine Mysteries & Conservation Journey adds a new dimension to Finolhu’s collection of excursions, combining adventure, marine exploration and conservation-focused activities during the Maldivian summer season.
