Emirates brings Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations onboard flights from Dubai
Chinese films and entertainment add to the onboard experience
DUBAI – For families across Asia, the Mid-Autumn Festival is a time for reunion, traditions and gatherings beneath the full moon.
As travellers head home to celebrate with loved ones, Emirates is bringing elements of the occasion onboard selected flights from Dubai.
The airline will offer complimentary mooncakes and festive treats to passengers travelling to Singapore, China, Hong Kong and Malaysia.
Mooncake treats
On 25 and 26 September 2026, customers travelling on select Emirates flights will receive a complimentary mooncake with their meal service, regardless of cabin class. The traditional seasonal treat will feature a red bean paste filling and will be served alongside lunch or dinner.
Passengers in First Class and Business Class will receive a specially packaged mooncake gift box after the first meal service. In Premium Economy and Economy Class, the mooncakes will be included on the meal tray.
Lounge offerings
Emirates will continue its Mid-Autumn celebrations during the lunar month with special offerings at its airport lounges in Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai on 6 October.
Travellers using the lounges will be able to enjoy mooncakes as well as lava custard black gold glutinous rice balls, adding another seasonal touch before their journeys.
Chinese entertainment
The festive experience extends to Emirates’ inflight entertainment system, ice, which features more than 40 Cantonese and Mandarin films.
The selection includes recent titles such as I Am What I Am 2, Invincible Swordsman, The Way We Talk and I Want to Be Rich. Customers can also access more than 300 Hollywood releases with Chinese subtitles, including How to Train Your Dragon, Elio, Materialists and Audrey’s Children.
