UAE travel update: Cancellations and delays hit Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah flights
Check the latest changes before heading to the airport
DUBAI – Passengers travelling through the UAE on Wednesday are facing a mix of flight cancellations and delays across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
Services operated by Emirates, flydubai, Air Arabia, Airblue, Kenya Airways and several other airlines have been affected, with some flights running several hours behind schedule.
UAE carriers continue to operate at near full capacity, but passengers have been advised to check directly with their airline for the latest status before leaving for the airport, as schedules can change at short notice.
Dubai
At Dubai International Airport, Emirates flight EK902 from Amman was cancelled after being scheduled to arrive at 6.35pm. Flydubai also cancelled FZ816 to and from Abha, FZ8501 to Kuwait, FZ8502 to Basra and FZ8505 to Entebbe.
Kenya Airways cancelled KQ304 from Nairobi and its return KQ305, while Airblue cancelled PA410 from Lahore and PA411 back to Lahore. ATA Airlines services involving Tehran and Himalaya Airlines flights H9 765 and H9 766 between Dubai and Kathmandu were also cancelled.
Several arrivals were delayed. Emirates EK002 from London Heathrow was running 37 minutes late, EK924 from Cairo by 1 hour 25 minutes and EK435 from Brisbane by 2 hours 31 minutes. Flydubai FZ992 from Saint Petersburg was delayed by 1 hour 31 minutes, while FZ1716 from Minsk faced a 2 hour 22 minute delay.
SpiceJet SG5105 from New Delhi was delayed by 50 minutes, while SG5118 from Kochi faced a delay of 7 hours 35 minutes. Pegasus PC1708 from Ankara was 43 minutes late, while Kenya Airways KQ311 was delayed by 4 hours 30 minutes.
Dubai departures were also affected, including services to Dhaka, Kozhikode and Kochi, with some flights pushed back by several hours. At Dubai World Central, TBZ6608 to Tehran was cancelled.
Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi-bound passengers were also facing changes. Etihad EY064 from London Heathrow was delayed by 1 hour 46 minutes, EY066 by 45 minutes and EY042 from Amsterdam by 52 minutes.
Other information showed Etihad EY552 from Riyadh delayed from 7.10am to 11.01am, while 3L044 from Kathmandu moved from 1.05pm to 2.08pm. Oman Air WY636 to Muscat and WY635 from Muscat were cancelled.
Sharjah
At Sharjah, Air Arabia cancelled G9070 to Gassim, G9191 to Tabuk, G9040 and G9027 to Doha, G9107 to Bahrain, G9068 and G9124 to Kuwait, and G9691 to Entebbe. AirSial's PF796 from Lahore to Abu Dhabi was also cancelled.
October schedule
Passengers planning future trips will see some changes as airlines gradually restore services. Lufthansa is scheduled to resume Dubai flights to Munich and Frankfurt from October 25, followed by SWISS services to Zurich on October 27. Eurowings is due to restart Dubai flights to Berlin, Stuttgart and Cologne/Bonn from November 1, while Austrian Airlines plans to resume Dubai-Vienna services on December 12.
British Airways is taking bookings for Dubai from November 4, initially with one daily winter service. Air Astana is scheduled to resume Dubai flights from Almaty on October 1 and Astana on October 2.
Other carriers continue to have suspended or reduced schedules. Air France's Dubai flights remain suspended through October 13, while Wizz Air is expected to resume Dubai services from October 25 and Abu Dhabi services from October 27. Singapore Airlines, KLM, ITA Airways, AirBaltic and SWISS have suspended Dubai services through October 24, while Air Canada has cancelled Dubai flights until mid-January 2027.
Turkish Airlines has resumed Dubai and Abu Dhabi services, although Tehran flights remain suspended.
