UAE travel alert: Air Arabia expands selective flight operations from Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and RAK hubs
Vienna, London Gatwick and Russia routes scheduled for phased return dates
SHARJAH – Air Arabia has resumed a limited number of flights to and from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), operating across selected international routes under operational and regulatory approvals, according to a travel update.
The airline said services are now gradually returning across key markets in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Passengers can book available flights through the airline’s website, mobile application, or authorised travel agents. Travellers whose flights were previously cancelled may also rebook, provided they have not yet used their modification or refund entitlement.
Air Arabia flights
The carrier is operating from its UAE hubs in Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah, with a reinstated network spanning multiple regions.
In the Middle East and Gulf, flights connect to Bahrain, Oman (Muscat and Salalah), Qatar (Doha), Jordan (Amman), Lebanon (Beirut), Iraq (Baghdad, Basra, Erbil, Najaf), Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. South Asian routes include Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal, covering major cities such as Karachi, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kochi.
In Africa and nearby regions, operations include Egypt (Cairo, Alexandria), Ethiopia (Addis Ababa) and Kenya (Nairobi), alongside services to Armenia (Yerevan), Georgia (Tbilisi) and Kazakhstan (Almaty). The wider network also extends to Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur), Thailand (Bangkok and Phuket), Maldives (Malé) and Turkey (Istanbul and Trabzon). European destinations currently include Athens, Milan Bergamo, Rome, Prague and Munich, reflecting a gradual restoration of international connectivity.
Route timeline
Several key European and Russian routes have scheduled restart dates as part of the phased recovery plan. Vienna services are set to resume from 25 June, while London Gatwick flights are scheduled to restart on 4 July. In Russia, Yekaterinburg operations are planned for 1 September, followed by Ufa from 2 September. Other Russian destinations include Moscow-Domodedovo, Kazan and Samara, which continue to operate on a limited basis.
The airline’s updated network also reflects staggered reinstatements across Central Asia and Europe, aligning with ongoing operational assessments. These phased schedules are intended to restore connectivity while maintaining regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
Passenger support
Passengers affected by cancellations are being offered flexible options, including one free date change within 30 days, excluding the Eid period, a full credit voucher, or a refund to the original payment method. The airline has advised customers experiencing difficulties with rebooking or refunds to use its chat service and request assistance from a live agent.
Travellers who booked directly via Air Arabia’s website or mobile app can manage their reservations online, while those who booked through travel agents are advised to contact their respective agents for support. The airline has also urged passengers to keep their contact details updated to receive timely notifications, noting continued high enquiry volumes as operations stabilise. Air Arabia said the safety of passengers and crew remains its highest priority throughout the ongoing adjustments to its flight programme.
