Dubai celebrates first Three MICHELIN Star restaurants
Two new One Star venues and five new Bib Gourmand eateries added
DUBAI's gastronomic scene reached new heights as, for the first time, two restaurants were awarded Three MICHELIN Stars in the 2025 edition of the MICHELIN Guide Dubai.
Trèsind Studio and FZN by Björn Frantzén have joined the global culinary elite, marking a landmark achievement in the emirate’s four-year MICHELIN journey.
The announcement was made at a grand ceremony at Address Sky View, where 119 establishments across over 35 cuisine styles were unveiled.
This year’s selection includes two new One MICHELIN Star restaurants, five new Bib Gourmand honourees, and a raft of special awards. Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the MICHELIN Guide, remarked on Dubai’s transformation into a “beacon for food lovers,” crediting the city’s multicultural influences and culinary ambition.

Triple Star triumph
In a historic first, Trèsind Studio becomes the world’s first Indian restaurant to earn Three MICHELIN Stars. On its fourth appearance in the Dubai Guide, the venue was recognised for Chef Himanshu Saini’s visionary reimagining of Indian cuisine. The tasting menu showcases traditional dishes presented with striking creativity and bold flair.

Simultaneously, FZN by acclaimed Swedish chef Björn Frantzén entered the MICHELIN Guide for the first time with Three Stars. Located in Dubai, this luxurious destination offers a refined blend of Scandinavian and Asian flavours, prepared using the finest global ingredients. Its debut in the Middle East has been met with widespread acclaim for excellence in execution and concept.
New Star entrants
Two restaurants were awarded their first MICHELIN Star. Jamavar, situated in Dubai’s Opera District, earned recognition for its elegantly crafted Indian cuisine made with premium ingredients. Meanwhile, Manāo – a Thai restaurant led by Dubai-born Chef Abhiraj Khatwani – received a Star for its imaginative 11-course tasting menu, grounded in traditional Thai roots and interpreted with inventive technique.

There are now 14 restaurants with One MICHELIN Star in Dubai, and three with Two Stars, reaffirming the city’s growing prestige in the global dining sphere.

Bib Gourmand honourees
The Bib Gourmand category, which recognises high-quality food at moderate prices, welcomed five new establishments. These include:
- DUO Gastrobar-Creek Harbour, offering accessible yet refined comfort food.
- Harummanis, featuring Malay grill dishes with cross-border influences.
- Hawkerboi, showcasing Southeast Asian street food in a relaxed setting.
- Khadak, a contemporary Indian brasserie focused on flavourful sharing plates.
- Sufret Maryam, delivering robust Levantine cuisine with generous portions.
With these additions, Dubai now boasts 22 Bib Gourmand restaurants.
Spotlight on talent
Special Awards were also presented to recognise outstanding individuals and teams in the hospitality industry. Ronin was named Opening of the Year for its vibrant pan-Asian concept at FIVE LUXE JBR. Shiv Menon of Boca won the Sommelier Award for his inclusive and sustainable wine curation.
The Service Award went to Al Khayma Heritage Restaurant’s team for their heartfelt, guest-focused approach, while the Young Chef Award was given to Manāo’s Abhiraj Khatwani. At just 30, his dedication and expertise earned him both a MICHELIN Star and industry recognition.
