Abu Dhabi unveils Dh1.54bn housing benefits boost ahead of Eid Al Adha
More than 1,000 beneficiaries included in latest support initiative
ABU DHABI – Under the directives of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in his capacity as Ruler of Abu Dhabi, His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, has approved a Dh1.54 billion housing benefits package for Emirati citizens across Abu Dhabi.
The latest package, announced ahead of Eid Al Adha, will benefit 1,074 citizens and forms part of broader efforts to strengthen family wellbeing and social stability while ensuring sustainable housing support across the emirate.
It marks the second housing benefits package approved in 2026 and arrives during a period of continued expansion in citizen-focused development initiatives.
Loan support
The package includes housing loans worth Dh1.41 billion for 929 Emirati citizens. It also includes exemptions from housing loan repayments valued at Dh123 million, benefiting 145 individuals including senior citizens, limited-income retirees and families of deceased citizens.
The timing of the announcement ahead of Eid Al Adha highlights ongoing efforts to ease financial burdens and support households through long-term housing solutions designed to meet changing community needs.
Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, said the leadership continues to place citizens’ needs at the centre of national priorities aimed at strengthening social stability and improving quality of life.
Al Shorafa said the leadership remains committed to ensuring a dignified life and suitable housing for Emirati families while promoting security, wellbeing and stronger social cohesion.
Hamad Hareb Al Muhairi, Director-General of Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, said the new package reflects continued support for Emirati families and reinforces the role of housing as a key pillar in achieving comprehensive national development goals.
He also reaffirmed the authority’s commitment to expanding and enhancing programmes and services to ensure citizens can access suitable housing with greater ease and convenience.
Growing figures
With the latest approval, the total value of housing benefits delivered across Abu Dhabi during 2026 has reached Dh5.76 billion.
The latest figures also show the scale of the long-term housing programme across the emirate. Since the establishment of Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, more than 133,000 housing benefits have been delivered to citizens, with total support exceeding Dh182 billion as housing initiatives continue to expand across the emirate.
