Dubai gold jumps to Dh549.75 as markets track Iran and oil signals
Precious metals gain ground with silver leading broader market moves
DUBAI – Dubai’s gold market opened the new week with fresh attention from shoppers and investors as bullion prices continued to track global developments.
The emirate remains one of the world’s most closely watched retail gold hubs, with daily movements often reflecting international market shifts, currency trends and geopolitical developments.
Buyers across the UAE frequently monitor Dubai rates as changing prices influence jewellery purchases and investment decisions.
Dubai gold rates
According to Dubai Jewellery Group's suggested retail rates for Monday, May 25, 24K gold opened at Dh549.75 per gram. The 22K rate stood at Dh509.25, while 21K was priced at Dh488.25 per gram. Meanwhile, 18K gold opened at Dh418.50 and 14K was listed at Dh326.50 per gram.
The latest figures place Dubai gold on a higher footing as international bullion prices gained strength at the start of the week. The movement follows developments in global markets where investors have been reassessing geopolitical risks and broader economic signals.
Global markets
Spot gold rose more than 1 percent in international trade to $4,559.29 per ounce, while US gold futures for June delivery gained 0.8 percent to $4,560.30. Market activity was supported by a weaker US dollar, making dollar-priced bullion more affordable for overseas buyers.
Attention remained fixed on developments involving the United States and Iran. Markets have been closely tracking comments from US President Donald Trump regarding ongoing diplomatic efforts and the possibility of reopening the Strait of Hormuz. Reports suggesting progress in negotiations helped pull oil prices down to two-week lows, easing concerns surrounding energy costs.
The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world's most important oil transit routes, and any change in access or geopolitical tensions can quickly affect crude markets, inflation expectations and investor sentiment.
Other precious metals
Precious metals also advanced across the board. Spot silver climbed 2.8 percent to $77.61 per ounce, outperforming several major assets during the session. Platinum rose 1.9 percent to $1,958.35, while palladium added 2.3 percent to reach $1,379.31.
