Priyanka Chopra’s ‘Hunkkaar’ brings crime, courtroom drama and suspense to STARZPLAY
Aneet Padda, Fatima Sana Shaikh lead new Hindi thriller
DUBAI – STARZPLAY is set to premiere ‘Hunkkaar: The Roar’, a new Hindi-language crime thriller executive produced by Priyanka Chopra Jonas.
Starring Aneet Padda and Fatima Sana Shaikh, the six-episode series will stream exclusively across the Middle East and North Africa from today.
All episodes will be released as the series’ India premiere.
Hunkkaar: The Roar
The story follows Meenu Rawat, played by Aneet Padda, a young survivor who finds the courage to challenge a powerful godman and a system influenced by power and authority. Her pursuit of truth takes her through a police investigation, courtroom proceedings and intense media scrutiny.
Fatima Sana Shaikh plays ACP Jasleen Singh Soni, who leads the investigation as the case begins to reveal deeper questions surrounding justice, truth and attempts to control the narrative.
The series brings together Padda and Shaikh in central roles, with Shaikh also known for her performance in Dangal. The ensemble cast features Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Arjun Mathur, Raghubir Yadav and Ram Kapoor.
Behind the series
‘Hunkkaar: The Roar’ is directed by Karan D. Kapadia, Nitya Mehra and Heeraz Marfatia. The production is backed by Birla Studios, Applause Entertainment, Purple Pebble Pictures and A Mangata Films Production.
Executive produced by Chopra Jonas, the series blends crime, courtroom drama and thriller elements while focusing on courage, accountability and a young woman’s determination to make her voice heard despite powerful opposition.
The series will be presented in its original Hindi audio, with English subtitles available for viewers.
