Global markets
Internationally, gold extended its rebound for a third consecutive session, trading at $5,241 per troy ounce, after touching around $5,225 earlier in the day. Persistent safe-haven demand and geopolitical uncertainty have supported the metal’s recovery.
The dollar remained firm in global currency markets, while energy prices added to the risk-driven narrative. Brent crude climbed to $72.69 per barrel, up about 2.6 percent. West Texas Intermediate advanced to $66.94 per barrel, a gain of roughly 2.7 percent. Both benchmarks are trading near seven-month highs ahead of Sunday’s OPEC+ meeting.
In the wider precious metals space, silver tracked bullion’s strength, holding firm alongside gold’s advance. Market participants continue to monitor cross-asset movements as investors weigh geopolitical developments and supply-side signals from energy markets.
