ABU DHABI – The United Arab Emirates successfully intercepted multiple Iranian ballistic missiles launched towards its territory, authorities confirmed on Saturday.

The Ministry of Defense (MoD) reported that the country’s air defence systems operated with precision, neutralising several of the incoming threats.

Some missile debris fell in a residential area, resulting in material damage and one civilian fatality of Asian nationality.

The MoD emphasised that the security situation remains stable, with all relevant entities monitoring developments around the clock. The interception demonstrated the effectiveness and readiness of the UAE’s air defence infrastructure in safeguarding civilian lives and national assets.

In a strong statement, the ministry condemned the attack, asserting the UAE’s categorical rejection of targeting civilians, public facilities, and national institutions. Authorities labelled the strike a dangerous escalation and a violation of international law, noting that such acts undermine regional stability.

The ministry confirmed that the UAE retains the full right to respond to any escalation, stating that all necessary measures are in place to protect the country’s territory, residents, and national sovereignty. Officials stressed that the safety of citizens, residents, and visitors remains a top priority, with authorities urging the public to rely solely on official sources for accurate updates.
