Appointments cancelled
According to the statement, all confirmed visa appointments for non-EU applicants have been cancelled and will not be rescheduled. Applicants are required to re-register via the consulate’s online appointment system once services resume. The same notification has also been published on the consulate’s website.
EU citizens exempted
The consulate clarified that services for European Union citizens remain unaffected.
No further explanation has been given regarding the suspension or any timeline for its lifting.
Last month, US consulates in Karachi and Lahore also introduced new social media requirements for certain visa categories, following changes first implemented in New Delhi.
