DUBAIKnight Frank has successfully completed the sale of the 230-key Revier Hotel in Business Bay, Dubai, acting on behalf of the Swiss developer Fortimo Group.

The contemporary property, inspired by Swiss design, has been acquired by a European investor in a deal that further strengthens Dubai’s position as a global hospitality investment hub.

Opened in 2021, Revier Hotel blends modern Swiss aesthetics with a lifestyle-centred setting in one of Dubai’s most sought-after districts. Its new owner plans to reposition and rebrand the property under the Barceló Hotel Group, marking another key step in the Spanish hotel operator’s regional growth strategy.

Expanding Barceló presence

The rebranding of Revier Hotel under Barceló Hotel Group underscores the brand’s ambitions in the Middle East and reinforces Dubai’s appeal as an investment destination.

With its proximity to Downtown Dubai and a growing base of business and leisure travellers, the property is expected to benefit from Barceló’s international reach and operational expertise.

Strength in the market

Kostas Erotokritou, Senior Manager – Hotel Capital Markets at Knight Frank, who led the transaction, said: “This transaction underlines the strength and resilience of Dubai’s hospitality market. The hotel’s forthcoming repositioning under Barceló Hotel Group will unlock further operational value and ensure the asset remains well aligned with the city’s evolving tourism landscape.”

Andrew Love, Regional Partner and Head of Commercial Transactional Services, MENA, added: “We are delighted to have advised on the sale of the Revier Hotel. This deal reflects our commitment to delivering exceptional outcomes for our clients across the region and our continued role in executing complex hospitality transactions.”

The Revier Hotel sale adds to Knight Frank’s expanding list of hospitality transactions across the Middle East and North Africa, with 15 hotel sales finalised in the past 24 months alone.
