Watch: Dubai launches smart drone delivery service in Nad Al Sheba
New route connects Nad Al Sheba Avenue Mall with Nad Al Sheba Grand Mosque
DUBAI – In a significant step towards transforming urban logistics, the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA), in collaboration with the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) and operator Keeta Drone, has launched a new drone delivery route in the Nad Al Sheba area.
The innovative service enables drones to deliver food orders from restaurants and cafés in Nad Al Sheba Avenue Mall to nearby residents, with delivery landings taking place at Nad Al Sheba Grand Mosque.
The launch marks another milestone in Dubai’s efforts to position itself as a global hub for smart transportation and advanced aerial delivery services. Mohammed Abdulla Lengawi, Director General of DCAA, inaugurated the route by overseeing the first drone delivery, attended by senior officials including Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, Director General of IACAD; Badr Bu Hanad, Director General of Dubai Silicon Oasis; and Sultan Butti bin Mejren, among others.
Smart and sustainable
“This initiative reflects Dubai’s leadership in embracing innovation that enhances everyday life. Keeta Drone has pioneered this technology, and we look forward to seeing drone delivery become an everyday reality across the city,” said Mohammed Abdulla Lengawi. He added that enabling smart delivery corridors supports Dubai’s vision of a sustainable, technology-driven future.

Echoing this sentiment, Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi described the collaboration as “a qualitative step” in advancing integration between public and private sectors to achieve Dubai’s smart transformation goals. He highlighted the symbolic choice of the Nad Al Sheba Grand Mosque as the drone port, saying it extends the role of mosques as vital community hubs that evolve with modern needs.
Expanding drone network
Keeta Drone currently operates four routes within Dubai Silicon Oasis. The Nad Al Sheba route represents a strategic expansion of its delivery network, connecting residential and commercial zones through contactless, eco-friendly operations.
Working under the regulatory framework of DCAA, the project underscores the effectiveness of public-private partnerships in advancing urban air mobility while ensuring compliance and safety.

Junwei Yang, General Manager of Keeta Drone, expressed gratitude to both the DCAA and IACAD for their collaboration. “This milestone marks the beginning of our commercial operations and the expansion of drone delivery routes across Dubai’s communities,” he said.
