Anticipation grows despite recent on-field controversies
DUBAI – Tickets for the historic ACC Men’s T20 Asia Cup 2025 final between arch-rivals Pakistan and India have been completely sold out, with organisers confirming a capacity crowd at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday.
The 28,000-seat venue is officially “house full,” as fans rushed to secure their spots for what promises to be one of the most memorable clashes in the history of the tournament. Organisers say that every seat has been snapped up, underscoring the extraordinary demand surrounding the final.
Record attendance expected
Earlier matches between the two sides had already showcased the scale of fan interest. The group stage clash on 14 September attracted 20,000 spectators, while the Super Four encounter on 21 September saw 17,000 in attendance. The upcoming title decider, however, has already surpassed these figures, setting the stage for the largest-ever Asia Cup crowd in Dubai.

Charged atmosphere
Excitement for the match is running high, despite controversy surrounding Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav’s conduct in the group stage, where his refusal to shake hands at the toss and subsequent political comments drew criticism. The International Cricket Council (ICC) issued a formal reprimand following a complaint from the Pakistan Cricket Board.
Pakistan captain Salman Agha, meanwhile, struck a confident yet balanced note ahead of the showdown. “The amount of pressure on both teams will be the same. We will try to give our best and win the final,” he said.
