Dubai Ruler hosts Italian President at Zabeel Palace
UAE-Italy relations deepen through strategic economic dialogue
DUBAI – His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, today welcomed Sergio Mattarella, President of the Italy, at Zabeel Palace.
The Italian president is on an official visit to the UAE, underscoring the importance of bilateral relations between the two nations. The meeting highlighted decades of collaboration and the shared vision of both countries’ leaderships.
Economic cooperation
During the discussions, Sheikh Mohammed emphasised the UAE’s commitment to strengthening ties in trade, investment, innovation, technology, and future industries. Both leaders explored avenues to enhance cooperation across multiple sectors of mutual interest, aiming to expand economic engagement and boost strategic partnerships.
Global dialogue
The meeting also focused on regional and international developments, with both sides underscoring the role of dialogue and international cooperation in promoting stability and sustainable development. President Mattarella commended the UAE’s economic achievements and reaffirmed Italy’s commitment to deepening collaboration across sectors.

The gathering included prominent UAE officials, including Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai; Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai; Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and CEO of Emirates Airline and Group; Minister of State for International Cooperation Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy; Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism Director General Helal Saeed Almarri; DP World Group Chairman and CEO Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem; and UAE Ambassador to Italy Abdullah Ali Al Saboosi.
