UAE travel update: Check latest Etihad, Air Arabia, flydubai and Qatar Airways flight status
Selected Gulf routes remain suspended across several airlines
DUBAI – Commercial aviation across the UAE continues to operate largely without disruption despite renewed military tensions in the Middle East, although several airlines have maintained cancellations on selected Gulf routes as a precaution.
A brief diplomatic lull between the United States and Iran has given way to fresh uncertainty following a new round of military escalation. The latest development came overnight after the United States said it intercepted an Iranian ballistic missile targeting one of its military bases in Jordan, raising concerns that the fragile pause in hostilities may be coming to an end.
Despite the latest developments, Dubai International Airport, Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi and other airports across the UAE continue to operate normally. Airlines, however, remain on high alert, closely monitoring regional airspace and adjusting schedules where operational or security considerations require.
Passengers travelling from the UAE are still being urged to check their flight status before leaving for the airport, particularly if flying to destinations in Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia or other parts of the Gulf where selected services remain suspended.
Etihad Airways
Etihad Airways continues to operate the majority of its network, although a handful of regional flights remain affected.
The airline has cancelled EY653 from Abu Dhabi to Kuwait and EY654 from Kuwait to Abu Dhabi for operational reasons.
Etihad has also confirmed that flights EY575 from Abu Dhabi to Dammam and EY576 from Dammam to Abu Dhabi, scheduled for July 28, were cancelled after the temporary closure of Dammam airport.
Passengers travelling with the airline are advised to ensure their contact details are updated so they can receive the latest notifications by SMS and email.
flydubai
flydubai has maintained limited cancellations on its Saudi Arabia network.
The airline confirmed that flight FZ815 from Dubai to Abha has been cancelled.
Customers are advised to monitor the airline's website or mobile application for the latest schedule information before travelling.
Air Arabia
Air Arabia continues to suspend several regional services from Sharjah.
The affected flights include:
- G9068 to Kuwait
- G9124 to Kuwait
- G9107 to Bahrain
- G9195 to Abha
Passengers booked on these services should verify their flight status before travelling to the airport.
Other airlines
Saudi low-cost carrier flyadeal has cancelled flight F3512 between Dubai and Riyadh.
Meanwhile, Saudia said all cancellations and schedule adjustments have now been reflected in its booking system through the end of October 2026, allowing customers to continue making reservations with greater certainty.
The airline nevertheless continues to advise passengers not to travel to the airport unless their flight has been confirmed.
Qatar Airways has also maintained the suspension of passenger services to Bahrain, Erbil and Kuwait until and including July 31, 2026, as it continues to monitor the regional security situation.
Travel advisories
Although airport operations remain stable across the UAE, international aviation regulators and governments continue to caution travellers about the evolving security environment.
The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has extended its advisory recommending that airlines avoid operating through the airspace over the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait and parts of the Gulf of Oman until August 31, citing continuing risks associated with military activity.
The UK's Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office continues to advise British nationals travelling in the region to prepare for possible flight cancellations, temporary airspace closures and wider travel disruption. Travellers are encouraged to monitor airline updates, follow local guidance and review their travel plans regularly.
The US Department of State has also maintained its worldwide advisory urging Americans to exercise increased caution, warning that the Middle East security environment remains complex despite previous diplomatic efforts. Similar advisories remain in place for citizens of Canada and Australia.
International carriers
Operational adjustments continue to affect several international airlines serving the Middle East.
Among the latest updates:
- Aegean Airlines has cancelled Dubai flights until August 31.
- Air Astana has suspended Dubai services from Almaty and Astana until August 31, with refunds and rebooking available.
- Air Canada has suspended Toronto-Dubai flights until October 24.
- Air France expects Dubai services to resume while maintaining suspensions on selected regional routes.
- airBaltic continues to suspend Riga-Dubai services.
- British Airways has suspended flights to Dubai, Bahrain, Amman and Tel Aviv until October 31, while reducing Doha and Riyadh schedules and permanently withdrawing its Jeddah service.
- Cathay Pacific has suspended Dubai flights until October 24 and Riyadh flights until October 25.
- Finnair has suspended Dubai services until October 24, with Doha winter operations also affected.
- ITA Airways continues to suspend Dubai flights until October 24.
- KLM has suspended Dubai, Riyadh and Dammam services until August 23.
- Lufthansa Group, including Lufthansa and Swiss, has suspended Dubai services until September 13, while several other Middle East routes remain suspended until October 24.
- Philippine Airlines has resumed Manila-Doha flights, although Dubai services remain suspended until October 2.
- Scoot has suspended Singapore-Jeddah services until August 8.
- Singapore Airlines has suspended Dubai flights until October 24 and postponed the launch of Riyadh services until December 1.
- Turkish Airlines has resumed flights to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Damascus, Beirut and Amman, although operations to Iran remain suspended.
- Wizz Air continues to suspend Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Amman services, with flights expected to resume during September.
Passengers with bookings on affected airlines are advised to contact their carrier directly regarding refunds, rebooking options or available travel waivers.
What travellers need to know
Although UAE airports continue to operate normally, some international flights are taking longer because airlines are avoiding restricted airspace in parts of the region.
Depending on the route, travellers may experience flight times extended by up to three hours, longer connection times, occasional schedule changes and delays in baggage transfers.
