UAE intercepts 11 ballistic missiles and 27 UAVs amid ongoing attacks
Defence systems respond to sustained aerial threats across the country
DUBAI – The UAE Ministry of Defence confirmed that air defence systems intercepted 11 ballistic missiles and 27 unmanned aerial vehicles launched from Iran on Monday.
The latest incident forms part of a broader escalation involving repeated aerial threats targeting the country.
Officials stated that since the onset of the attacks, air defences have engaged a total of 425 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles and 1,941 UAVs. The systems were activated swiftly to neutralise incoming threats, reflecting ongoing monitoring and rapid-response capabilities across multiple fronts.
The attacks resulted in the martyrdom of two members of the armed forces while performing their national duty. A Moroccan civilian contracted by the Armed Forces was also killed. In addition, eight fatalities were reported among individuals of Pakistani, Nepali, Bangladeshi, Palestinian and Indian nationalities.

A total of 178 people sustained injuries ranging from minor to severe. Those affected included nationals from the UAE and several countries, including Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, among others.
The Ministry of Defence reiterated its full preparedness to address any threats. Authorities affirmed that all necessary measures are being taken to safeguard the country’s sovereignty, security and stability, while protecting national interests and capabilities.
