DUBAI/LAHORE – A new international airline is set to reshape travel connectivity between Pakistan and Central Asia, as Centrum Air prepares to begin operations in the South Asian country.
Backed by Gerry’s Group, the airline’s entry marks a significant step in expanding regional aviation links and offering passengers broader global access. Centrum Air’s launch comes alongside its ongoing international expansion, including new routes linking major regional capitals. The development signals increasing momentum in cross-border travel and trade, particularly between Pakistan, Uzbekistan and neighbouring markets.
Pakistan launch
Gerry’s Group has officially announced the introduction of Centrum Air in Pakistan, with commercial flight operations scheduled to begin on April 21. The airline will initially operate direct flights from Lahore to Tashkent, establishing a vital air corridor between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.
The move is expected to provide Pakistani travellers with seamless access to a wide range of international destinations through Tashkent, which serves as a key aviation hub in Central Asia. According to the company, the airline will offer competitive fares alongside improved onboard services, targeting both leisure and business travellers.
Introductory fares for the Lahore-Tashkent route start from Rs40,436 for one-way tickets and Rs70,925 for return journeys, positioning the service as an economical option for international travel.
Centrum Air network
Centrum Air has been steadily expanding its route network, recently launching flights between Tashkent and Astana. The new service marks the airline’s fourth destination in Kazakhstan and operates multiple times a week using Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft.
Flight operations on the Tashkent-Astana route run several times weekly, with a flight duration of approximately two hours. The addition of Astana strengthens connectivity between two of Central Asia’s most important cities, enhancing opportunities for business, tourism and cultural exchange.
Officials and aviation stakeholders attending the launch ceremony in Astana highlighted the importance of the route in deepening regional cooperation and improving accessibility between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
