Bangladeshi national dies in Fujairah drone debris incident, UAE toll reaches 12

DUBAI – A Bangladeshi national has died after debris from a successfully intercepted drone fell on a farm in the Al Rifa’a area, authorities confirmed on Wednesday morning.
According to the Fujairah Government Media Office, UAE air defence systems intercepted an unmanned aerial vehicle over the emirate. Following the interception, debris landed on a farm in Al Rifa’a, resulting in the fatality. Authorities confirmed that the individual killed was of Bangladeshi nationality.

Iran attacks on UAE
Yesterday, UAE air defences engaged eight ballistic missiles, four cruise missiles and 36 UAVs launched from Iran. The response forms part of ongoing defensive operations against repeated aerial threats. Authorities confirmed that systems were activated promptly to intercept incoming projectiles.
Since the escalation began, UAE air defences have intercepted more than 430 ballistic missiles, 19 cruise missiles and 1,977 UAVs. The figures reflect the sustained intensity of attacks and continued readiness of defence systems across the country.
The latest incident brings the total death toll in the UAE to 12 since the conflict began on February 28. Earlier casualties included two members of the armed forces and a Moroccan civilian contracted by the Armed Forces, alongside other fatalities of Pakistani, Nepali, Bangladeshi, Palestinian and Indian nationalities.
A total of 188 people have also been injured, with cases ranging from minor to severe. Those affected include nationals from across multiple countries.
