DUBAI – Registrations are now open for the ninth edition of the Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC), running from November 1 to 30, 2025.

Launched in 2017 by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, the initiative urges everyone to commit to 30 minutes of daily activity for 30 days. Over the years, it has turned the city into a month-long celebration of movement and wellbeing.

The initiative has grown remarkably since its launch, with last year attracting 2.7 million participants – a 244 percent increase from its first edition. For 2025, the challenge takes place during the UAE’s “Year of Community”, aiming to harness collective motivation while inspiring healthier living.

What’s new in 2025?

The 2025 theme, ‘Find Your Challenge’, invites residents and visitors to explore new ways of staying active, catering to every age, ability, and interest. In addition to free classes, workouts, and activities citywide, this year sees an expansion of flagship events and the addition of a new one.

The Dubai Ride, presented by DP World, returns on November 2, offering cyclists the chance to experience Sheikh Zayed Road on two wheels. On November 23, Dubai Run, presented by Mai Dubai, transforms Downtown Dubai into a one-day running track, uniting thousands of participants. Dubai Stand Up Paddle, presented by RTA, is back for its third edition at Hatta Dam on November 8–9, extended over two days due to its popularity.

For the first time, the calendar introduces Dubai Yoga on November 30. This mass yoga event will bring DFC 2025 to a close with the largest mindful gathering yet, offering participants a unique city-wide exhale.

Where to join the action?

Beyond flagship events, DFC 2025 includes three free Fitness Villages across the city. These venues will host classes, dedicated ladies’ zones, football and basketball courts, padel and volleyball sessions, and high-energy workouts. Complementing them are numerous community fitness hubs providing free group activities, with thousands of classes set to energise Dubai for the entire month.

Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of the Dubai Sports Council, emphasised the accessibility of the challenge: “The simplicity of the 30x30 concept – 30 minutes of daily physical activity for 30 days – continues to inspire people of all ages and fitness levels to prioritise their health and wellbeing.”

Organised by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism and the Dubai Sports Council, with support from presenting partners DP World, Dubai Municipality, Mai Dubai and the Roads and Transport Authority, DFC 2025 is set to once again turn the city into a giant open-air gym.
