DUBAI – Dubai has added another Guinness World Record to its growing list of global achievements, this time in the fitness world.

The city officially set the record for the largest Lagree Fitness class ever held, with 253 participants working out simultaneously on Microformers beneath the iconic DIFC Gate. Guinness World Records officials were present on site to verify and confirm the milestone.

The record-breaking event was organised by Longevity Wellness Hub in partnership with DIFC and Lagree Fitness. Rows of patented Microformers filled the space under the landmark gate as participants moved in perfect synchronisation, framed by sweeping views of the Dubai skyline and the Museum of the Future in the distance.

Guinness World Record

The class was led by Sebastien Lagree, founder and creator of the Lagree Method, who personally conducted two back-to-back 45-minute sessions. It marked the first time Lagree himself had broken a world record. Live music set the tempo for the morning, with Lagree’s son serving as DJ, creating an energetic atmosphere as hundreds trained together.

The Lagree Method blends controlled, Pilates-inspired movements with high-intensity strength training. The workout focuses on slow, precise motion to build muscular endurance and strength while remaining low-impact and joint-friendly, making it accessible to a wide range of fitness levels.

Months of planning

Dani Afiouni, Founder and CEO of Longevity Wellness Hub, said the event was the result of months of planning and collaboration. He highlighted that the gathering was intended to celebrate community, movement and wellbeing, alongside Dubai’s distinctive urban setting. The DIFC Gate was chosen as a symbolic backdrop reflecting the city’s modern identity and global appeal.

Lagree training

Lagree training has seen rapid growth worldwide in recent years, driven by demand for efficient, results-focused workouts. Unlike traditional Pilates, the method incorporates greater resistance and intensity, while avoiding the joint strain often associated with heavy weightlifting.

The record-breaking class also launched a week of curated Lagree experiences across Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
