DUBAI/ABU DHABI – The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) has affirmed the full readiness of its teams and systems to respond to the current regional developments that led to the temporary suspension of flights as a precautionary measure.

The Authority stated that its response forms part of an integrated national framework operating in direct coordination with concerned entities across the country, aimed at safeguarding community security and ensuring the uninterrupted delivery of essential services.

The measures come as part of broader national efforts to manage the exceptional circumstances affecting air travel.

Emergency response

ICP confirmed that it has delivered all necessary services to arriving, departing and transit passengers stranded at UAE airports during the ongoing disruption. The move reflects the UAE’s humanitarian approach in managing emergency situations and ensuring the wellbeing of travellers.

In cooperation with relevant authorities, the Authority completed travel procedures for approximately 30,913 travellers across key airports, including Zayed International Airport, Dubai Airports, Sharjah International Airport, Ras Al Khaimah International Airport and Fujairah International Airport.

Visa support

As part of these efforts, ICP issued 15,327 entry visas at the aforementioned airports. The measure enables affected travellers to remain legally in the country until the current crisis subsides, ensuring dignified living conditions and facilitating safe onward departure once normal operations resume.

The Authority also provided comprehensive facilitation services, including visa issuance and clearance procedures, hospitality arrangements until travel formalities were completed, as well as transportation and accommodation in coordination with airport operators and concerned entities.

Operational continuity

ICP emphasised that all operational plans and risk management procedures were activated in accordance with the highest approved standards. Coordination remains ongoing with strategic partners to ensure seamless performance at ports of entry once full air traffic operations recommence.

The Authority noted that its business continuity plan for emergencies and crises was implemented from the outset. This included facilitating the entry of eligible citizens and residents, issuing entry visas where applicable, and arranging accommodation and hospitality for stranded passengers in collaboration with airport operators and relevant authorities.

ICP urged travellers and members of the public to rely solely on official sources for information and to follow updates issued through the official channels of the concerned authorities, underscoring that the United Arab Emirates maintains advanced infrastructure and a robust operational system capable of responding efficiently and flexibly to evolving developments.
