Jennifer Lopez, Enrique Iglesias set for Rixos Egypt's silver jubilee bash
Summer 2025 kicks off with international stars at new Sharm resort
DUBAI: Rixos Hotels Egypt is marking its 25th anniversary in spectacular style, blending grand expansion plans with global entertainment acts to position Egypt as a leading luxury tourism hub.
As part of its summer 2025 festivities, the brand has announced an electrifying entertainment schedule featuring global superstars Enrique Iglesias and Jennifer Lopez. These headline concerts will be held at the newly launched Rixos Radamis Sharm El Sheikh, setting the tone for a landmark year in Egyptian hospitality.
Since entering Egypt eight years ago, Rixos Hotels – under the leadership of Managing Director Erkan Yildirim – has grown rapidly, now offering over 7,000 rooms in destinations such as Alexandria, Alamein, Sharm El Sheikh, and Hurghada. The vision is to make Egypt a magnet for international travellers, not only through accommodation but by creating immersive experiences anchored in luxury, culture, and entertainment.
Enrique Iglesias and JLo due in Egypt
The first of the summer’s major concerts will feature Latin pop icon Enrique Iglesias on 3 May 2025, followed by a dynamic performance from global sensation Jennifer Lopez on 4 July 2025. Both shows will take place at Rixos Radamis Sharm El Sheikh, the latest addition to the brand’s growing portfolio. Currently offering 1,200 rooms, the resort is on track to expand to 3,000 rooms, making it the largest property under both Rixos and Accor worldwide.
Yildirim has positioned these events as more than entertainment – they are strategic tools to shift global perceptions of Egypt. “What began as a bold vision to change the destiny of the destination is now unfolding with measurable impact,” he noted. The entertainment lineup reflects Rixos’ strategy to elevate Egypt alongside top-tier tourist destinations such as the UAE, Spain, Greece, and Turkey.
Expanding horizons
Beyond Sharm El Sheikh, Rixos Hotels Egypt is intensifying its footprint across the country. In Hurghada, the Rixos Premium Magawish Suites & Villas is adding 442 units, including an adults-only section under the elite Club Privé by Rixos brand. Located just ten minutes from Hurghada International Airport and stretching along one kilometre of Red Sea coastline, the resort is fast becoming a beacon of upscale hospitality.
In Alexandria, the first phase of the Rixos Montaza Alexandria has officially opened. Nestled within the historical grounds of the former Montaza Royal Palace, the hotel offers a rare fusion of heritage and elegance, aiming to redefine urban luxury. Mr. Yildirim describes it as “one of the most iconic and historic locations in Egypt.”
North Coast gateway
Strategically, Rixos is also eyeing Egypt’s North Coast, bolstered by the UAE’s substantial Dh128.5 billion ($35 billion) investment in Ras El Hekma. With properties in both Alamein and Alexandria, Rixos is well-placed to capitalise on the transformation of this once-overlooked coastal stretch into a premium travel destination.
To enhance accessibility, FlyDubai has introduced three weekly flights to Alamein Airport and daily services to Alexandria. These connections are expected to significantly boost tourism from the Gulf region, especially during the high summer season when Egypt’s cooler Mediterranean coast becomes a prime escape.
“What we’re doing is more than growth – we’re creating a movement,” Yildirim asserted.
