Passenger trust rises as flydubai keeps operations steady during crisis
flydubai NPS doubles as UAE airspace strategy wins customer confidence
DUBAI – Dubai’s aviation sector has demonstrated notable resilience, with flydubai reporting a sharp rise in customer satisfaction during a period marked by regional airspace disruptions.
The Dubai-based carrier recorded an Excellent Net Promoter Score (NPS) in March, more than doubling its previous levels based on feedback from thousands of passengers. The performance reflects strong confidence in both the airline and the UAE’s aviation ecosystem.
The surge in customer sentiment comes against the backdrop of multiple airspace closures triggered by regional tensions. Despite these challenges, the UAE implemented swift and coordinated measures to ensure passenger safety while maintaining operational continuity. The approach reinforced Dubai’s standing as a dependable global aviation hub.
Airspace response
From the onset of the disruption, the UAE activated emergency air corridors in collaboration with regional partners, allowing a limited number of flights to operate. Frequencies were gradually increased as conditions stabilised, supported by real-time intelligence and risk assessments.
Temporary airspace closures were introduced proactively, with a phased reopening designed to safeguard passengers and crew. The coordinated response between aviation authorities, airlines and other stakeholders enabled a controlled resumption of services while maintaining high safety standards.
Operational strength
Throughout March, flydubai operated more than 3,800 flights, maintaining service continuity despite evolving conditions. The airline adjusted flight paths and schedules, ensuring flexibility for travellers while preserving operational readiness.
Close collaboration between public and private sectors, along with robust contingency planning, helped minimise disruption. Clear and consistent communication further supported passengers navigating changing travel conditions, reinforcing trust in the system.
Commenting on the airline’s performance, Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer of flydubai, highlighted the broader significance of the results. He noted that global aviation has faced unprecedented challenges in recent months, but the UAE’s decisive leadership ensured that safety and operational stability remained priorities.
He said the continued confidence of passengers reflects trust not only in the airline but also in the UAE’s wider aviation framework. He added that flydubai remained committed to providing reliable service and transparent communication throughout the disruption.
Customer confidence
The airline’s elevated NPS score places it among the highest in the industry, underlining strong customer loyalty and satisfaction. NPS is widely used to measure how likely customers are to recommend a service, making it a key indicator of overall sentiment.

Passenger feedback during the period highlighted appreciation for the airline’s reliability and efficiency. Travellers cited its ability to maintain operations and provide safe travel options when alternatives were limited. Several customers noted that flydubai enabled them to return home after repeated cancellations with other carriers.
The performance is also linked to the airline’s continued investment in product and service enhancements. Improvements across cabin interiors, onboard experience and on-time performance have contributed to higher satisfaction levels, alongside a long-term strategy focused on both operational excellence and workforce development.
Dubai’s ability to sustain aviation activity during a period of widespread disruption has further strengthened its global reputation. Supported by advanced infrastructure and a strong emphasis on customer care, the emirate has maintained continuity while prioritising safety.
