UAE announces Eid Al Adha prayer timings for all emirates
Festive rituals include morning prayers, livestock sacrifice, and charity giving
DUBAI: The General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments has officially announced the Eid Al Adha prayer timings for 2025 across the United Arab Emirates.
Eid prayers are traditionally held around 15 to 20 minutes after sunrise, and this year’s schedule varies slightly by emirate.
Each city’s prayer timing reflects its sunrise, enabling communities to gather shortly after the early morning light.
Eid prayer timings in UAE
Residents in Abu Dhabi will begin Eid prayers at 5:50am, while Dubai follows closely at 5:45am.
In Sharjah and Ajman, prayers are scheduled for 5:44am.
The Eastern Region of Sharjah, Fujairah, and Ras Al Khaimah will begin at 5:41am, and Umm Al Quwain and Al Ain City at 5:43am.
Al Dhafra City will have the latest start at 5:55am.
Eid Al Adha 2025 holiday
The UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has confirmed a four-day paid holiday for private sector employees from Thursday, June 5 to Sunday, June 8.
Normal work resumes on Monday, June 9. The break aligns with Arafat Day on June 5 and Eid Al Adha from June 6 to 8.
These dates were finalised after the moon-sighting committee confirmed the start of Dhu Al Hijjah on Wednesday, May 28.
Why are holidays unified?
Under a unified policy, both federal government and private sector employees will enjoy the same holiday duration. Workers who must remain on duty are entitled to either compensatory leave or additional pay – specifically, basic salary plus a minimum 50% bonus for the day.
The timing of Eid Al Adha changes annually due to the Hijri lunar calendar, which is around 10–12 days shorter than the Gregorian year. Religious events like Eid are determined by the sighting of the moon, ensuring observance remains aligned with Islamic tradition.
