Abu Dhabi restarts operations at Zayed International Airport with passenger support measures
Thousands of stranded travellers receive hotel accommodation and support
ABU DHABI – Limited flight operations have resumed at Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi following a period of disruption, with authorities implementing extensive measures to support stranded travellers.
Abu Dhabi Airports confirmed that operations restarted in coordination with the Emergencies, Crises and Disasters Management Center – Abu Dhabi, following several days of operational adjustments across the aviation sector.

Airport authorities said the reopening of services reflects coordinated efforts across government agencies, aviation partners and emergency management teams.
Support for stranded passengers
During the disruption, thousands of passengers affected by schedule changes received accommodation and support across the emirate.
More than 4,300 complimentary hotel rooms were provided across 74 hotels to accommodate approximately 7,000 passengers whose travel plans were impacted.
Authorities also arranged a wide range of support services, including shuttle transport between hotels and the airport, refreshments, hospitality support, medical assistance and retail vouchers.
Officials said the measures were designed to ensure passenger wellbeing while airlines worked to adjust schedules and restore services.
Abu Dhabi Airports said the wellbeing of passengers and staff remains its top operational priority as the airport gradually resumes activity.
Travellers with confirmed tickets have been advised to contact their airlines for updated flight schedules and travel guidance.
Passengers have also been urged not to arrive at the airport unless they have received specific instructions from airlines regarding their departure time.
