DUBAI: In a bold step blending transport and branding, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has officially granted the naming rights of the UAE Exchange Metro Station to Life Pharmacy.

The station will now be known as Life Pharmacy Metro Station following a 10-year agreement signed with Life Pharmacy Group.

The deal was facilitated through Hypermedia and supervised by Mada Media, the authorised concessionaire under RTA’s naming rights programme.

The strategic partnership is part of Dubai’s ongoing Metro Naming Rights initiative, a pioneering project first launched in 2009 that continues to attract major private sector brands. According to Abdul Mohsen Ibrahim Kalbat, CEO of RTA’s Rail Agency, the collaboration is a testament to the city’s successful public-private partnership model, driving national economic growth and creating cross-sector job opportunities.

Speaking on behalf of Mada Media, CEO Mohamad Al Hammadi highlighted the commercial potential of the deal. He said the agreement transforms Dubai Metro’s infrastructure into an "impactful platform" for advertisers, allowing Life Pharmacy to engage with thousands of daily commuters in a powerful new way. The partnership aligns with Mada Media’s mission to redefine how advertising functions in high-footfall environments across the city.

Life Pharmacy Group’s Chairman and Managing Director, Abdul Rahuman Abdul Nazzar, echoed the sentiment, calling the agreement a strategic move that underscores the company’s deepening roots in Dubai’s urban fabric. He described the metro station as a vital hub serving thousands each day and sees the naming rights as a reflection of Life Pharmacy’s role in the city's day-to-day rhythm.

Digital and on-ground integration

Implementation of the name change will begin in May and continue through to August 2025. The rebranding will span a comprehensive network update including external and internal signage, digital platforms, public transport applications, and real-time audio announcements onboard trains. The initiative ensures commuters will encounter the new station identity seamlessly across all touchpoints.
