UAE air defences intercept 33 aerial threats as Iranian attacks continue

DUBAI – The UAE’s Ministry of Defence on Monday confirmed that air defence systems intercepted a fresh wave of aerial threats originating from Iran, engaging 12 ballistic missiles, 2 cruise missiles and 19 unmanned aerial vehicles.
The swift response reflects ongoing efforts to counter repeated incursions while maintaining national security. Authorities stated that defensive measures remain active and coordinated across all levels to address any emerging threats.
No fatalities were reported in the latest hours, underscoring the effectiveness of the interception systems in place.
Interceptions
Since the escalation of attacks, UAE air defences have successfully engaged a total of 519 ballistic missiles, 26 cruise missiles and 2,210 UAVs. These operations form part of sustained defensive action aimed at neutralising incoming threats before they reach populated areas or critical infrastructure.

The ministry emphasised that all interceptions are carried out in line with strict operational protocols to ensure precision and minimise risk to civilians.
Impact
The cumulative impact of the attacks has resulted in injuries to 221 individuals of multiple nationalities, ranging from minor to severe cases. In the past hours, four additional injuries were reported. Authorities confirmed that there have been two martyrs since the onset of the attacks, along with the martyrdom of a Moroccan civilian contracted with the Armed Forces. The total number of civilian fatalities stands at 10, including individuals from several nationalities.
The Ministry of Defence reiterated that UAE forces remain fully prepared to confront any further threats, reinforcing the country’s commitment to safeguarding sovereignty, stability and national interests. Security operations continue as part of a broader strategy to protect residents and maintain readiness against evolving risks.
