DUBAI – Dubai-based Parkin has announced its first expansion beyond the emirate, securing a long-term agreement to operate parking facilities at the Aljada development in Sharjah.

The move marks a significant step in the company’s regional growth strategy as it enters a new market. The partnership has been signed with Arada Developments LLC, the master developer behind one of Sharjah’s largest mixed-use projects.

Under the agreement, Parkin will serve as the sole parking operator across Aljada, managing on-street, off-street and building parking facilities spanning residential, retail and commercial areas.

Phased rollout

The project will see up to 9,900 parking spaces introduced in phases between 2026 and 2030. Of these, around 3,500 spaces will be allocated to on- and off-street parking, with approximately 1,400 expected to be operational by the start of the third quarter of 2026.

Building parking will account for an estimated 6,400 spaces, with about 400 spaces set to be delivered by the end of the second quarter of 2026. The remaining capacity will be rolled out progressively through to 2030 as the development expands.

Smart systems

All parking facilities will be integrated into Parkin’s smart system, featuring a fully ticketless, camera-based entry and exit process. Payments will be automated through a digital wallet, streamlining the user experience across the community.

Parkin expects to invest between Dh8 million and Dh10 million over the duration of the contract, with approximately Dh3 million earmarked for 2026. The company projects total revenues ranging from Dh40 million to Dh50 million over the 10-year term, subject to the full rollout of planned spaces.

The agreement aligns with upcoming developments within Aljada, including new retail and commercial zones, as well as key destinations such as the Central Business District, Madar Mall and the Aljada sports complex.
