Wizz Air relaunches Abu Dhabi flights with fares from just Dh312
Bookings open for flights from Poland, Cyprus, and Hungary to UAE capital
ABU DHABI – Bookings are now open for Wizz Air’s highly anticipated return to Abu Dhabi, with flights resuming from November after a brief suspension of operations.
The ultra-low-cost carrier has announced fresh routes connecting the UAE capital to several European cities, including Katowice, Krakow, Larnaca, Bucharest, Budapest, and Sofia. The airline, known for its vibrant pink and white fleet, had earlier exited the UAE market following a strategic review that cited regulatory hurdles, engine challenges in hot weather, and intense regional competition. However, its latest move signals a renewed focus on profitable point-to-point routes rather than a full withdrawal from the region.
What routes are returning?
According to the airline’s booking system, flights from Katowice and Krakow in Poland will begin on 20 November 2025, with fares starting from 309 Polish Zloty (approximately Dh312). Bucharest-Abu Dhabi flights will follow on 30 November, Budapest–Abu Dhabi on 1 December, and Larnaca–Abu Dhabi on 14 December.
Wizz Air has also confirmed that the first reinstated route will be between Abu Dhabi and Larnaca, commencing 15 November 2025. The flights will operate four times per week – on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays – with one-way fares from just €24.99.
Wizz Air’s return to Abu Dhabi
Earlier this year, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi announced that it would suspend operations effective 1 September, following a “strategic realignment” of its business model. The airline’s CEO, József Váradi, had described the decision as necessary due to “geopolitical volatility and regulatory challenges” in the region.
