UAE-India travel offer: Air India Express launches Dh1 baggage deal
Festive promotion valid for bookings until October 31 across GCC routes
DUBAI – Air India Express has introduced a special festive season promotion for travellers from the Gulf to India, offering 10 kilograms of extra baggage for just Dh1.
The limited-time deal is available to passengers flying from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, and Qatar.
Bookings under this promotion must be made by October 31, with travel permitted until November 30. The airline described the campaign as a “never-before” offer, designed to cater to the surge in travel demand ahead of major Indian festivals such as Diwali.
Key booking rule
The airline has clarified that the additional baggage allowance must be purchased at the time of booking. Once the ticket is issued, passengers will not be able to add the extra 10kg later. This condition encourages travellers to plan their baggage requirements in advance before confirming their flights.
High travel demand
Airfares between the UAE and India have risen by about 30 to 40 percent due to higher demand and limited seat availability during the festive period. The Dh1 offer is expected to appeal strongly to budget-conscious travellers looking to offset increased ticket prices.
Air India Express, a subsidiary of Air India under the Tata Group, connects major Gulf cities including Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Muscat, Dammam, and Doha to over 20 Indian destinations. The carrier is also expected to make temporary adjustments to its winter schedule, reducing some South India routes before resuming full operations in March.
