UAE retains world’s strongest passport in 2025 for seventh straight year
Singapore and European passports see mobility declines
DUBAI – The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has once again claimed the title of the world’s strongest passport, topping the Passport Index 2025 by Arton Capital for the seventh consecutive year.
In a global environment where travel freedom is declining, the Emirati passport continues to stand out, offering unprecedented mobility for business, education, and tourism. The UAE passport now allows visa-free access to 129 destinations, visa-on-arrival in 45 countries, and ETA access to eight, achieving a Mobility Score of 179 – the highest worldwide.
Arton Capital CEO Armand Arton highlighted that the UAE’s strong diplomacy, long-term bilateral partnerships, and digital modernisation have been pivotal in maintaining its top position. Expanded ETA access in countries like Canada has further strengthened its global reach.
Top 10 strongest passports
According to the Passport Index 2025, Singapore and Spain follow the UAE with scores of 175. Belgium, France, Sweden, Germany, and several other European nations closely trail with scores of 174.
Poland, Slovenia, Croatia, and Hungary rank fourth, while the UK, Canada, and the US experienced notable declines, reflecting stricter global entry rules. India’s passport ranks 67th, demonstrating the contrast in international mobility.
Global passport shifts
The 2025 rankings reveal growing disparities as European countries and North America see reduced travel freedom.
