Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif to visit UAE tomorrow
High-level meetings scheduled in Abu Dhabi
DUBAI: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif is due in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on an official visit tomorrow, the country’s embassy confirmed on Wednesday.
His visit reflects the longstanding fraternal relationship between Pakistan and the UAE, anchored in mutual respect, trust, and shared values. A high-level delegation will accompany the prime minister, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, federal ministers, and senior officials.
High-level talks in Abu Dhabi
During the visit, PM Shehbaz Sharif will hold high-level discussions with the UAE leadership, including a bilateral meeting with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi. These talks will cover a wide spectrum of bilateral, regional, and global issues of mutual interest, with a particular focus on enhancing cooperation in trade, investment, energy, and human resource development.
UAE-Pakistan ties
The visit underscores the shared commitment of both countries to advance their strategic partnership and explore new avenues of collaboration. The UAE is among Pakistan’s top trading partners in the region and a key investor in energy and infrastructure projects. The countries maintain close ties through joint ventures, defence cooperation, and diplomatic exchanges.
Over 1.7 million Pakistani nationals live and work in the UAE, contributing significantly to the Emirati economy while sending vital remittances back home.
