Sharjah to Maldives: Air Arabia doubles non-stop flights
Twice daily service begins on October 27
ABU DHABI: Air Arabia has announced the expansion of its Sharjah-Maldives route, increasing service to twice daily non-stop flights from 27 October 2025.
The development comes a year after the low-cost carrier launched operations between Sharjah International Airport and Velana International Airport in Malé, the capital of the Maldives. This step is aimed at offering more travel flexibility and convenience to passengers heading to the island nation from the UAE.
Adel Al Ali, Group CEO of Air Arabia, said the airline is pleased to strengthen its Maldives presence by responding to rising demand. He added, “The step to double our flights reflects the growing demand for air travel to this popular destination. We remain committed to providing our customers with reliable, affordable, and value-driven air travel.”
Fleet and features
Air Arabia operates a fleet of modern Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft, known for their efficient design and spacious seating. The aircraft offer one of the most generous seat pitches in economy class. Passengers can enjoy ‘SkyTime’, an in-flight streaming service that delivers entertainment directly to personal devices. For meals, travellers can choose from a wide variety of snacks, meals, and sandwiches available through the on-board ‘SkyCafe’.

Tickets for the enhanced Sharjah-Maldives route are now available for booking through Air Arabia’s official website, its customer service centre, or approved travel agencies. With the new schedule, travellers will have greater options to explore one of the world’s most popular island destinations with added affordability and convenience.
