Emirates to broadcast every FIFA World Cup 2026 match live onboard
NBA Finals and Formula 1 also feature this summer
DUBAI – Emirates has announced that it will broadcast every match of the FIFA World Cup 26™ live onboard its flights, allowing passengers to follow the action from the tournament’s opening ceremony in Mexico through to the final in the United States on 19 July.
The airline said customers travelling during the competition will be able to watch matches via Sport 24 on its award-winning ice entertainment system. The dedicated live sports channel will carry the full tournament schedule, ensuring fans can keep up with one of the world’s most-watched sporting events while flying.
With supporters from nations across the globe expected to follow the competition closely, Emirates said passengers will be able to watch every goal, celebration and key moment live at 40,000 feet. The move is designed to help travellers stay connected to the tournament, regardless of where they are flying.

To help customers plan their journeys around the matches, the complete FIFA World Cup 26 live broadcast schedule has been published in the June edition of the airline’s ice magazine.
Live television channels, including Sport 24 and Sport 24 Extra, are available on most Emirates flights, although availability may vary depending on aircraft type and route. Where possible, matches will also be shown in Emirates Lounges across Dubai.
Beyond football
Football is not the only major sporting event available to passengers this summer. Between 4 and 20 June, Sport 24 and Sport 24 Extra are also broadcasting the NBA Finals for basketball fans.
The airline’s live sports coverage will additionally include the Canada Sail Grand Prix from Halifax Harbour, Nova Scotia, on 20 and 21 June. Motorsport enthusiasts will also be able to watch the Formula 1 Moët & Chandon Belgian Grand Prix on 19 July and the Formula 1 AWS Hungarian Grand Prix on 26 July through the onboard sports channels.
