Pakistan Business Council Dubai convenes global councils at Inter-Council Networking 3.0
ASEAN and South Asian councils explore collaboration opportunities in the UAE
DUBAI – The Pakistan Business Council (PBC) Dubai successfully hosted the third edition of its Inter-Council Networking series at the Pakistan Association Dubai, bringing together a wide range of international business councils for an evening focused on collaboration and connectivity.
Held in partnership with the ASEAN Business Councils and the Nepali Business Council, the event underscored Dubai Chambers’ broader mission of promoting cross-council engagement across the emirate.
The gathering attracted senior leaders, entrepreneurs, and representatives from diverse sectors operating within the UAE.
Regional presence
Business councils representing the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore, and Nepal were among those in attendance, reflecting the breadth of participation. Distinguished guests included Asiyah Monjardin, Chairwoman of the Philippines Business Council; Fahmy Ansara, Chairman of the Malaysian Business Council; Harry Nguyen, Chairman of the Vietnam Business Council; and Dr Asif Siddiqui, Chairman of the Nepali Business Council, each accompanied by their respective delegations. Their participation highlighted a shared interest in advancing regional cooperation and strengthening commercial engagement within Dubai’s multicultural business environment.
The event was also attended by Ali Zeb Khan, Trade and Investment Counsellor at the Consulate General of Pakistan in Dubai, who joined as guest of honour. His presence reflected the growing importance of structured business platforms that connect expatriate commercial communities with regional and international markets.
Leadership’s commitment
In his welcome address, PBC Dubai Chairman Shabbir Merchant thanked partner councils for their collaboration and engagement. He emphasised the value of inter-council partnerships in fostering meaningful dialogue and practical business outcomes, noting that regular interaction helps identify emerging opportunities and strengthens understanding of the UAE’s evolving market dynamics. He also reaffirmed PBC Dubai’s commitment to expanding speed-networking initiatives as a tool for building stronger professional relationships.
Senior Vice Chairman Kamran Ahmed Riaz highlighted the council’s alignment with the vision of Dubai Chambers, which has consistently encouraged cross-council cooperation and economic exchange. He noted that bringing together varied business communities creates space for innovation, cooperation, and sustainable entrepreneurial growth.
Interactive exchange
A panel discussion moderated by Muhammad Kalim provided council leaders with a platform to share insights into their respective communities, outline ongoing initiatives, and explore potential areas for joint programmes and member support services. Discussions focused on collaboration, knowledge sharing, and the development of networking platforms that serve multiple councils.
Ali Zeb Khan commended the PBC Dubai Board for its forward-looking approach, praising its efforts to create avenues that promote bilateral engagement and strengthen economic ties. The evening concluded with a Mix-and-Match Speed Networking session, enabling participants to exchange ideas, explore partnerships, and establish new professional connections in a fast-paced setting.
