DUBAI – Emirates is celebrating the British summer with the return of its popular seasonal strawberry menu, offering passengers a specially curated selection of desserts on flights between Dubai and the UK from July 13 to July 31.

The limited-time menu follows the airline's bespoke Wimbledon offering and showcases one of Britain's most iconic summer ingredients.

Across every cabin class, travellers can enjoy desserts inspired by classic British flavours, while the airline also highlights its commitment to sustainable sourcing and premium onboard dining.

Summer treats

Passengers travelling from Dubai to the UK will find different strawberry-inspired desserts depending on their cabin class. First Class customers can enjoy honey cake served with strawberry compote and clotted cream, while those in Business and Premium Economy are offered a strawberry tart paired with pistachio sauce. Economy Class passengers can savour a cream cheese mousse served with strawberry compote and hazelnut streusel.

The return journey from the UK to Dubai features an entirely different menu. First Class customers are served the traditional British favourite Eton Mess, prepared with meringue, mascarpone cream and strawberry compote. Business Class passengers can enjoy white chocolate cheesecake with strawberry and basil confit, while Premium Economy travellers are offered strawberry panna cotta with strawberry coulis. In Economy Class, passengers can finish their meal with a strawberry cheesecake topped with crumble.

The airline said the seasonal menu has been designed to reflect the freshness and versatility of strawberries while celebrating one of Britain's best-loved summer traditions.

Fresh ingredients

Emirates chefs have selected the Monterrey strawberry variety for the seasonal menu, known for its bright colour and naturally sweet flavour. More than 10kg of Monterrey strawberries are supplied to Emirates flights each day from Bustanica, the world's largest indoor vertical farm, which is co-owned by Emirates.

Using hydroponic and vertical farming technology, Bustanica produces nutrient-rich fruit while significantly reducing water consumption compared with conventional farming methods. According to the airline, the strawberries are served onboard less than 12 hours after harvesting, helping preserve their freshness throughout the journey.

Passengers visiting the Emirates A380 Onboard Lounge can also enjoy seasonal strawberry favourites, including fresh strawberries with cream, strawberry lemon cake and a selection of strawberry-inspired mocktails and cocktails blended with fresh basil for a refreshing flavour.

The seasonal offering forms part of Emirates' broader strategy of refreshing its onboard menus throughout the year with destination-inspired dishes, regional specialities and seasonal ingredients that reflect local cultures.

Global supply

Beyond its onboard menus, Emirates is also helping British strawberry growers reach international consumers through its cargo operations.

The airline works with leading UK producers, including Blush from UK and Hugh Lowe Farms, a family-run farm in Kent recognised for its premium-quality strawberries.

Emirates SkyCargo supports exports through two weekly freighter services from London Heathrow, one weekly freighter flight from London Stansted and the airline's extensive passenger network.

Since March 2026, Emirates SkyCargo has transported more than 230 tonnes of British strawberries from the UK to the UAE, equivalent to around 12 million strawberries. The airline said its temperature-controlled logistics network enables fresh, time-sensitive produce to reach overseas markets quickly while maintaining quality from farm to destination.
