flydubai unveils major Economy Class upgrade with free meals and entertainment
New fare structure offers greater value on every flight
DUBAI – UAE’s airline flydubai is set to redefine the travel experience for its Economy Class passengers with a significant enhancement to its onboard offering.
Starting from November 2025, all Economy fares will include complimentary meals and in-flight entertainment, reflecting the airline’s ongoing investment in customer experience and product innovation.

This announcement marks another milestone for the Dubai-based carrier, which continues to evolve in line with customer expectations and market trends.
What’s changing
From next year, flydubai passengers will no longer need to pay additional fees for meals or entertainment. Every Economy ticket will now come with both included as standard, offering greater value and convenience.
The new onboard menu features a range of meals, snacks and beverages inspired by the airline’s international destinations.

Travellers can expect authentic regional flavours from African, European, Indian, Middle Eastern, Russian and Southeast Asian cuisines, with offerings that may vary depending on flight route and duration.
How it enhances travel
flydubai’s upgraded in-flight entertainment system will offer more than 1,000 films across Hollywood, Bollywood, Arabic and international categories, alongside a selection of TV shows from leading studios such as HBO Max, BBC Kids and Cartoon Network. Passengers can also enjoy interactive games, E-magazines, over 700 music albums and podcasts, and destination travel guides.

Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer at flydubai, said: “Redefining the Economy Class offering across all flights represents a significant evolution in our business model, offering customers a more elevated and convenient travel journey. Our focus remains on investing in enhancing our customer experience and delivering added value across every touchpoint.”
He added that by responding to customer feedback and changing market dynamics, the airline continues to reinforce its position as a major player in the UAE’s aviation industry and a vital contributor to Dubai’s global vision.
Hamad Obaidalla, Chief Commercial Officer at flydubai, highlighted that the timing of the upgrade aligns with the airline’s broader expansion goals. “This announcement has come at the right time as we prepare to expand our network, continue to grow our fleet and welcome more passengers on board year after year,” he said. “By including meals and in-flight entertainment in every ticket, we’re modifying the Economy Class fare structure and ensuring passengers get more value, while remaining competitive.”
In recent years, flydubai has invested heavily across every stage of the customer journey. The airline introduced a dedicated Business Class check-in area and opened a Business Class Lounge at Terminal 2 of Dubai International Airport, designed to offer passengers an enhanced pre-flight experience.
What’s next
The carrier’s expansion continues with the addition of nine new aircraft this year, taking its fleet to 95 Boeing 737s, with three more expected by the end of 2025. flydubai currently operates flights to over 135 destinations, supported by ongoing fleet modernisation and a comprehensive retrofit programme introducing new Business Class lie-flat seats and refreshed Economy seating.
Looking ahead, the arrival of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft in 2027 will mark a new era for the airline, enabling longer routes, greater passenger capacity and elevated onboard comfort.
