Babar, Rizwan left out as Pakistan unveil squad for UAE T20I tri-series and Asia Cup 2025
Asia Cup group includes India, UAE and Oman alongside Pakistan
DUBAI – Pakistan’s Men’s National Selection Committee on Sunday confirmed the 17-member squad for two major T20 competitions in the UAE – the tri-series and the ACC Asia Cup T20 2025.
Both tournaments will be staged between 29 August and 28 September across Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
The tri-series, involving Afghanistan, Pakistan and the UAE, will be contested entirely at Sharjah Cricket Stadium from 29 August to 7 September. Pakistan will then shift focus to the Asia Cup, an eight-team contest where they are drawn in Group ‘A’ with India, Oman and hosts UAE. Matches will be played at Dubai International Cricket Stadium (DICS) and Abu Dhabi venues from 9 to 28 September.

The Pakistan line-up will be led by Salman Ali Agha. Other selected players include Abrar Ahmed, Faheem Ashraf, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, Hasan Ali, Hasan Nawaz, Hussain Talat, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Haris (wicket-keeper), Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Waseem Jnr, Sahibzada Farhan, Saim Ayub, Salman Mirza, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Sufyan Moqim.
Fixtures confirmed
Sharjah will see six round-robin tri-series matches before the 7 September final. Pakistan’s opening clash comes against Afghanistan on 29 August at 7pm, followed by a meeting with the UAE the next evening.
In the Asia Cup, Pakistan face Oman on 12 September, India on 14 September, and UAE on 17 September, all at DICS from 6pm. Super Four matches will run between 20 and 26 September, culminating in the final on 28 September in Dubai.
