DUBAI – Cristiano Ronaldo is officially set to join the Fast & Furious franchise, with Vin Diesel confirming that a role has been written specifically for the Portuguese football icon.
The announcement has fuelled global excitement, blending the world of elite sport with one of Hollywood’s most successful action sagas.
Cast members have also publicly welcomed the five-time Ballon d’Or winner into what the franchise famously calls its “family”.

Tyrese Gibson led the on-set celebrations by sharing a photo on Instagram featuring Ronaldo alongside Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Ludacris and Michelle Rodriguez. Accompanying the image, Gibson wrote: “Welcome to the family! @cristiano The global dance just went into new heights.”
The post quickly gained traction, with fans speculating about the scale of Ronaldo’s involvement and his potential on-screen persona.
Vin Diesel confirms
Vin Diesel soon added weight to the speculation, confirming that Ronaldo’s appearance is more than a cameo tease. Posting on Instagram, the 58-year-old actor and producer wrote: “Everyone asked, would he be in the Fast mythology… I gotta tell you he is a real one. We wrote a role for him…”
The confirmation positions Ronaldo within the Fast X: Part 2 storyline, the eleventh and final chapter of the franchise.
Final chapter
Fast X: Part 2 is currently slated for release in April 2027 and is expected to conclude the saga that began in 2001. Diesel has previously revealed that the finale will return to Los Angeles, refocus on street racing culture and reunite Dominic Toretto with Brian O’Connor, the character originally played by the late Paul Walker. The returning cast is expected to include Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Jason Momoa, Jordana Brewster and Michelle Rodriguez.
Ronaldo’s involvement comes as he continues to expand his off-field ventures, including the recent launch of his own film studio, UR•MARV, signalling a growing presence in the entertainment industry alongside his football legacy.
