Dubai school parking to become faster with new KHDA and Parkin system
Real-time checks to simplify access for students and school staff
DUBAI – Dubai’s school communities could soon spend less time dealing with paperwork and more time on seamless access as the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) and Parkin Company PJSC unveiled a new digital partnership to transform educational parking services across the emirate.
The strategic collaboration framework aims to modernise how parking subscriptions are managed for students and staff. It replaces a process that currently depends on manual approvals from educational institutions and physical document submissions to verify eligibility.
The move is expected to speed up access while reducing administrative workload.
Digital access
Under the new framework, KHDA and Parkin will integrate their systems to enable real-time eligibility checks for applicants seeking educational parking subscriptions. The integrated approach is designed to eliminate multiple administrative steps while creating a faster and more efficient user experience.
The two entities said the system has been developed with data privacy standards in mind, while also supporting wider digital transformation efforts across Dubai’s education landscape.
Dr Amna Al Maazmi, Chief Executive Officer of the Growth and Human Development Sector at KHDA, said the collaboration aligns with Dubai’s Education 33 Strategy by improving accessibility and convenience for students, educators and parents through digital innovation.
Wider support
Parkin said the initiative forms part of its broader efforts to support Dubai’s education sector. This includes managing parking arrangements around schools during busy pick-up and drop-off periods and offering operational support during school events.
The company also provides discounted subscriptions for educational institutions and students, priced at Dh100 per month or Dh1,000 annually. The plans represent savings of up to 80 per cent.
Mohamed Abdullah Al Ali, Chief Executive Officer of Parkin Company PJSC, said the partnership would simplify services and remove manual processes across Dubai’s education community.
Parkin operates approximately 229,000 paid parking spaces across Dubai through concession agreements and partnerships as of the end of 2025. The company also recorded 141 million parking transactions in 2025 through its digital payment and parking management systems.
