New partnership opens one-stop routes across Asia and Africa
DUBAI – flydubai and Cyprus Airways have announced a new interline agreement aimed at strengthening international air connectivity through Dubai.
The partnership is designed to offer passengers smoother travel experiences and wider access to destinations spanning Africa, Asia, the Middle East and the GCC.
The agreement allows travellers to book a single itinerary with coordinated baggage handling and streamlined transfers via Dubai International Airport, one of the world’s busiest aviation hubs. The collaboration is expected to enhance travel efficiency while reducing connection complexities for passengers moving between the two carriers’ networks.

Under the new arrangement, passengers departing from Larnaca with Cyprus Airways will gain one-stop access through Dubai to a wide range of flydubai destinations. These include major cities and leisure hotspots such as Almaty, Astana, Colombo, Dhaka, Jeddah, Kathmandu, Krabi, Kuwait, Langkawi, Malé, Medina, Muscat, Penang and Riyadh. The expanded connectivity strengthens Cyprus’ outward travel links, offering improved access to both business and holiday destinations across flydubai’s growing network.
At the same time, flydubai customers will benefit from improved access to Cyprus via Cyprus Airways’ operations to Larnaca, further supporting tourism flows, business travel and trade connections between the island nation and multiple global markets.
Passenger benefits
The interline agreement enables coordinated services between the two airlines, including baggage transfers and simplified booking processes under a single itinerary. This is expected to reduce transit friction and enhance the overall passenger journey. The agreement also reflects both airlines’ focus on expanding accessibility through hub-based connectivity, with Dubai playing a central role in linking east and west.
flydubai’s modern fleet of 97 Boeing 737 aircraft supports its expanding operations, offering Business and Economy Class cabins with upgraded onboard services. Passengers in Business Class benefit from lie-flat seating and curated dining experiences, while Economy Class travellers are provided with enhanced comfort and optimised seating space.
Strategic growth
According to flydubai Chief Executive Officer Ghaith Al Ghaith, the partnership marks an important step in improving network reach and delivering greater convenience for customers, highlighting the importance of aviation collaborations in supporting trade and tourism flows across regions.
Cyprus Airways Chief Executive Officer Thanos Pascalis said the agreement reinforces the airline’s commitment to expanding connectivity options for passengers, particularly through Dubai, which serves as a key global transit hub linking the Gulf, Asia and Africa.
Since its launch in 2009, flydubai has introduced more than 100 routes that previously had no direct connection to Dubai, further cementing its role in developing new air corridors across emerging and established markets.
