Etihad Airways earns APEX Five-Star Global Airline status for 2026
Award based entirely on passenger feedback across nearly one million flights
ABU DHABI – UAE’s national flag-carrier Etihad Airways has once again been named a Five-Star Global Airline by the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) for 2026.
The prestigious accolade was unveiled this month during the APEX/IFSA Awards Ceremony at the APEX/IFSA Global EXPO in Long Beach, California.
The rating is derived entirely from passenger feedback, with nearly one million flights across almost 600 airlines worldwide reviewed using a five-star scale. The results were then independently certified by an external professional auditing firm, underlining the credibility of the award.
What does the award mean?
The recognition cements Etihad’s position among the world’s leading carriers. It comes at a time when the airline is expanding its network and refining its onboard product across all cabins, including The Residence, First, Business, and Economy. The award highlights not only service standards but also the consistency of the experience offered across short, medium, and long-haul flights.
How is Etihad raising standards?
The carrier has recently introduced the Airbus A321LR, a new aircraft type designed to bring wide-body comfort to single-aisle flying.
Onboard, guests can expect exclusive First Suites with sliding doors, lie-flat all window-facing Business seats, and advanced Economy seating with 4K touchscreens. The A321LR also offers high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity and next-generation inflight entertainment, allowing passengers to remain connected throughout their journey.
