DUBAI – Al Ansari Holding has pledged Dh10 million to support the Edge of Life campaign, a major UAE-led humanitarian initiative aimed at rescuing five million children from hunger worldwide.

The contribution underscores growing corporate backing for the Ramadan-launched drive.

The campaign seeks to mobilise large-scale funding for long-term solutions to childhood malnutrition.

Edge of Life

The Edge of Life campaign was launched during Ramadan by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. It aims to raise at least Dh1 billion to fund sustainable programmes designed to combat childhood hunger globally.

Operating under the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI), the campaign focuses on building a broad community movement to support vulnerable children, particularly in regions affected by conflict and natural disasters.

Global hunger drive

The initiative comes amid alarming global statistics showing that five children under the age of five die every minute due to malnutrition and hunger. The campaign places special emphasis on the world’s most vulnerable communities, where food insecurity continues to threaten child survival and development.

Edge of Life is being organised in partnership with UNICEF, Save the Children, the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), and Action Against Hunger, reflecting a coordinated international effort to address the crisis.

Mohammad Ali Al Ansari, Chairman of Al Ansari Holding, described the contribution as part of the group’s commitment to social responsibility. He said the campaign reflects the UAE’s leading humanitarian role and its continued support for international efforts to combat hunger and advance sustainable development goals.

Al Ansari added that the donation coincides with Al Ansari Exchange’s 60th anniversary and highlights the company’s ongoing backing of MBRGI programmes. He noted that childhood hunger is not merely a nutrition issue but a humanitarian crisis affecting children’s rights to life, education and stability.

How to donate

The campaign continues to accept donations through multiple channels, including its official website, a toll-free call centre (800 4999), bank transfers via Emirates Islamic Bank, SMS contributions through du and e&, as well as the DubaiNow app, YallaGive and Dubai’s Jood platform.
