DUBAI – Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Government of Dubai Media Office, has announced the launch of the second edition of the ‘Dubai’s Best Decorated Ramadan Homes’ competition as part of the ‘Ramadan in Dubai’ campaign.

The initiative is organised in collaboration with Emarat Al Youm and invites residents to transform their homes into vibrant expressions of the holy month.

Now in its second year, the competition encourages households across the emirate to reimagine their façades through creative lighting and decorative elements inspired by Ramadan traditions. Organisers say the initiative aims to strengthen community spirit while celebrating the cultural significance of the season.

Participants are being urged to turn their homes into illuminated landmarks that reflect hospitality, generosity and togetherness associated with Ramadan.

Prize details

A total of 15 cash prizes will be awarded to the most impressive entries. The first-place winner will receive Dh100,000, followed by Dh80,000 for second place and Dh60,000 for third.

Fourth and fifth place winners will take home Dh40,000 and Dh20,000 respectively. In addition, ten more winners will each receive Dh10,000, expanding the opportunity for households to be recognised for their creativity.

Shaima Al Suwaidi, Director of Brand Dubai, said the competition reflects the city’s ability to blend heritage with modern creativity while turning a social custom into a shared civic celebration.

“Ramadan has always been a time when homes open their doors and hearts to family, friends and neighbours,” she said, adding that the initiative aims to showcase that spirit visually across the city through light and design inspired by Emirati traditions.

She noted that home decoration during Ramadan is closely linked to hospitality and community connection. According to her, one illuminated façade often inspires neighbouring homes, gradually transforming entire streets into unified festive spaces.

Media role

Ibrahim Shukrallah, Editor-in-Chief of Emarat Al Youm, said the publication is proud to collaborate on the second edition of the initiative, describing it as a meaningful bridge between media and community engagement.

He said the competition goes beyond visual appeal, highlighting family values, generosity and the sense of togetherness that defines the Holy Month. Shukrallah added that Emarat Al Youm will spotlight participating homes and document their displays to showcase Dubai’s Ramadan atmosphere.

How to enter

Sara Merdas, Member of the Organising Committee, said the initiative is designed to maximise community participation and encourage residents to create warm neighbourhood environments during Ramadan.

Entries must come from homes located within Dubai, and decorations should focus on front façades using lighting and decorative features. Participants are required to produce a creatively filmed video highlighting themes linked to the ‘Year of Family’.

The video must be uploaded to the participant’s public Instagram account using the hashtag #Dubai_Best_Decorated_Ramadan_Homes_2026 and tagging @branddubai.

The deadline for submissions is 11 March 2026.
