UAE gets first WEY showroom as plug-in hybrid SUV 03 launches in Dubai
New model features 378 hp and 130 km electric-only range
DUBAI: Smart Mobility International (SMI), the UAE’s first specialist distributor of premium Chinese electric vehicles, has inaugurated the country’s first WEY showroom, located at Murdouf Centre, Al Safa 1, along Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai.
This milestone marks the UAE debut of WEY, one of Great Wall Motor’s leading automotive brands, known for its intelligent plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs).
The launch aligns with Smart Mobility’s vision to drive sustainable mobility solutions in the UAE. The showroom opening was hosted by Moutaz Louis, CEO of Smart Mobility International, and attended by dignitaries, industry leaders, and car enthusiasts.
Hybrid WEY 03 unveiled
During the grand opening, SMI introduced the new WEY 03 – a cutting-edge plug-in hybrid SUV equipped with the Hi4 intelligent all-wheel-drive system. The vehicle is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine combined with dual electric motors, offering a total output of 378 horsepower and 750 Nm of torque.
The WEY 03 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just six seconds, and its 2,745 mm wheelbase ensures a comfortable, stable ride. Drivers can select from three power sources (EV, EV Priority, and Hybrid) and five driving modes (ECO, Normal, Sport, Snow, and AWD), delivering dynamic control tailored to all driving conditions.
Impressive fuel economy
Offering a high level of fuel efficiency, the WEY 03 consumes just 5.68 litres per 100 kilometres, based on the WLTC cycle. The vehicle features a 27.5 kWh battery and delivers an electric-only driving range of up to 130 kilometres – making it ideal for city travel with zero emissions.
Smart safety features
The vehicle is fitted with advanced safety technologies, including 5 millimetre-wave radars, 8 ultrasonic radars, a front-facing sensor camera, and 4 surround-view cameras. Additional features include lane-keeping assist, blind spot monitoring, automatic emergency braking, reverse lateral braking, and six airbags, ensuring safety across various driving environments.
Strategic expansion
Speaking at the event, Moutaz Louis highlighted the importance of the launch in expanding SMI’s footprint in the new energy vehicle (NEV) market of the region. “The WEY 03 offers a best-in-class experience by combining performance engineering with sustainable powertrains and intelligent architecture,” he said.
He further noted that the launch underscores the company’s commitment to environmental preservation and sustainable innovation aligned with the UAE’s clean mobility goals.
After-sales advantage
SMI is offering a comprehensive after-sales package for the WEY 03, including a 1 million kilometre or 5-year warranty for the vehicle, and 8 years or 1 million kilometres for the battery. Customers also receive 3 years or 60,000 kilometres of free servicing, a complimentary charger, and one year of free insurance.
Dedicated service centre
Supporting the rollout, Smart Mobility International’s Service Centre in Al Quoz spans 5,000 square metres and is equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic tools and a skilled technical team. The facility provides a full range of services including software updates, maintenance, genuine spare parts, and expert repairs – delivering an ownership experience that mirrors the premium innovation of the WEY brand.
