DUBAI – India stormed into the Asia Cup 2025 final after defeating Bangladesh by 41 runs in the Super Four clash at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday night.

India’s batting
India, asked to bat first after Bangladesh captain Jaker Ali won the toss, posted a competitive total of 168 for six in their allotted 20 overs. In reply, Bangladesh folded for 127 runs in the final over despite opener Saif Hassan’s valiant 69, handing India a commanding win.
Put into bat, India built their innings around Abhishek Sharma’s brilliant knock of 75 runs, scored off 51 deliveries. Sharma anchored the top order and struck timely boundaries to keep the scoreboard moving. He found support from Shubman Gill, who made 29, while all-rounder Hardik Pandya contributed a quick-fire 38 to give India a strong finish.
Bangladesh’s bowlers shared the wickets, with Rishad Hossain taking two scalps. Mustafizur Rahman, Mohammad Saifuddin and Tanzim Hasan chipped in with one wicket each. Despite their efforts, India’s batting line-up managed to reach a defendable total on the slow Dubai surface.
Bangladesh’s response
Chasing 169 for victory, Bangladesh’s batting line-up collapsed under sustained pressure from India’s bowlers. Saif Hassan offered lone resistance with a fluent 69 from 51 balls, featuring a mix of caution and aggression. His innings included partnerships that briefly steadied the chase, but once he was dismissed, Bangladesh’s hopes faded quickly.
Parvez Hossain contributed 21 runs, but the rest of the batting order crumbled, with no other player managing to cross double figures. The team eventually folded for 127 runs in 19.5 overs.
Bowling brilliance
India’s bowlers delivered clinical performances to secure the result. Spinner Kuldeep Yadav was the standout, claiming three wickets to dismantle Bangladesh’s middle order. Pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah and mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy picked up two wickets apiece, while Axar Patel and Tilak Varma added one wicket each to complete a well-rounded effort.
The disciplined bowling attack ensured that Bangladesh never threatened India’s total, applying pressure through dot balls and timely breakthroughs.
