Emirates debuts premium economy on retrofitted Boeing 777 to Kuala Lumpur
Passengers enjoy new comfort features and exclusive inflight services
DUBAI – Emirates has introduced its award-winning Premium Economy cabin to Kuala Lumpur, deploying its newly retrofitted Boeing 777 aircraft on flights EK346 and EK347.
The development forms part of the airline’s multi-billion-dollar retrofit programme, aimed at delivering a consistent premium experience across its global network.
Passengers travelling on EK346 depart Dubai at 3:10hrs, landing in Kuala Lumpur at 14:25hrs, while EK347 returns from Kuala Lumpur at 19:10hrs, arriving in Dubai at 22:10hrs. Both services now showcase Emirates’ fully refurbished aircraft, offering refreshed interiors across four cabin classes, including Premium Economy.
What’s onboard
The Premium Economy cabin offers travellers spacious leather reclining seats with full leg rests, footrests, and adjustable headrests. Each seat is fitted with a 13.3-inch TV screen, in-seat charging, and a wood-finished cocktail table. Passengers also receive a generously sized pillow, blanket, and amenity kits on select flights.
Dining in Premium Economy mirrors a refined restaurant experience, with regional cuisine presented on Royal Doulton fine china, stainless steel cutlery wrapped in linen, and meals served on a polished woodgrain dining table. Premium wines and a curated range of beverages are available throughout the journey.
Emirates’ Premium Economy
With the rollout of the Boeing 777 upgrade, Emirates’ Premium Economy is now offered on nearly 70 destinations worldwide. Malaysian passengers also gain the ability to connect seamlessly through Dubai to key destinations such as London Heathrow, New York JFK, and Lyon.

Emirates retrofit programme
The Emirates retrofit programme covers 219 aircraft, with 67 already completed. By the end of 2025, the airline expects to offer nearly 2 million Premium Economy seats annually, doubling capacity to 4 million by 2026. Premium Economy passengers benefit from a 35kg checked baggage allowance alongside 10kg of carry-on, with bookings available through the official website and the Emirates App.
