UAE: Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2024 Organisers prepare for spectacular race weekend amidst F1's global expansion

As Formula One's global expansion continues, Ethara, the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2024 organisers, are gearing up for an extraordinary race weekend. The event, now in its 16th year, has become a pivotal event for the region's tourism and leisure sectors, drawing visitors from around the world to experience the electrifying atmosphere and unmatched hospitality of Abu Dhabi. 

The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2023 saw a record-breaking attendance of 170,000 fans, with 65% coming from outside the UAE. Notably, half of the attendees had previously experienced the race weekend, showcasing a loyal and growing fanbase. 

Global reputation

The Grand Prix contributed significantly to the economy in 2023, with a total expenditure of AED 1.165 billion, reinforcing Abu Dhabi's global reputation as a premier tourism and leisure destination.

Formula 1's popularity continues to soar globally, with over 5.9 million fans attending 23 race weekends in 2023, a 43% increase from 2018. With a record-setting calendar featuring 24 races across 21 countries this year, fans will have the unique opportunity to run the iconic Yas Marina Circuit on December 5, preceding the season finale.

Ethara's commitment to community well-being is demonstrated through initiatives like the inaugural Run #AbuDhabiGP, which promotes healthy and active lifestyles. As part of the Yas All In program, racegoers will enjoy access to Yas Island's adventure parks, further enhancing the Grand Prix experience.
